Congratulations to Lewis and Cole for achieving their SolidWorks Certification this past week. Mr. Yakubovsky mentioned there are now 15 students certified.
Way to go everyone! Thank you to all members who filled out our recent Parent Survey regarding Spending Preferences. The EBC Board has identified fundraising opportunities that will help us reach our goals. Your participation in the survey helped the Board to understand the top 3 spending preferences for funds collected through fundraising:
To see the current list of Lab Equipment needs, please see the Fundraising section or Mr. Yakubovsky's Newsletters. The Board will announce Fundraising initiatives at the upcoming PotLuck Dinner on December 1st to help toward the purchase of as many items on this list as possible! It is great to see the enthusiasm for enriching the learning environment for our School of Engineering Student Body! Many members have asked how they can be a part of bringing in outside Guest Speakers or help with organizing a Virtual Field Trip for our students. If you would like to offer your expertise in such a manner OR if you have contacted an Organization which has a great Engineering related presentation, we would be happy to connect you with teachers whom can make it happen! Please go to the Volunteering section and complete the Virtual Field Trip / Guest Speaker Volunteer form (on the left hand side of the Volunteer section) to begin the process. And third place was a tie! The EBC Board will continue to highlight specific Student Community events (such as the recent STEM Lock-In this fall and the Paint Ball event last spring). These events are organized by the students and funded in part or whole by the EBC! The Board will also continue to accept Senior Scholarship applications each spring and consider applicants for Scholarship awards. Look for more information on EBC Scholarship applications in the Scholarship section after February 1st. Start planning your Ugly Holiday Sweater attire now and mark your calendars for the upcoming Potluck Dinner on Thursday, December 1st at the CHS Commons! Please let us know what type of dish you will bring through the sign up link below:
http://www.mysignup.com/e **Donations toward the WRITE A CHECK CAMPAIGN Begin at the Potluck** A quick and easy way to support the CHS School of Engineering is by increasing the impact of your donation with a corporate matching gift. Many employers will match your financial gifts and/or volunteer hours. Find out if your employer will match your contributions through your company HR Benefits Administrator.
Some employers request a commitment of volunteer hours to provide a matching contribution. There are many volunteer opportunities within the School of Engineering program and the Engineering Booster Club. We will work to find a volunteer opportunity that will match your time and talent needs. If you need help finding out where to volunteer, please contact any EBC Board Member or School of Engineering teacher. Thank you for considering a donation to support the students of the CHS School of Engineering! The Coppell High School Engineering Booster Club is reaching out to students in the 2015-16 school year whom were awarded Scholarship funds through the Engineering Booster Club (EBC). If you were a recipient of EBC Scholarship funds, please contact a member of the EBC to make sure your College of choice has received your Scholarship funds. If you are a parent/guardian/friend of a recipient, please contact the recipient and advise them of this notice. Any Scholarship not collected by December 1st, 2016, will be returned to the general EBC fund and made available for future scholarship programs. A letter was sent to each recipient regarding this information and the EBC still has recipients whom have not notified us of their College of choice to collect awarded Scholarship funds.
The Certificates keep on coming! A big congrats to Solar Car Team President MacKenzie and Vice President Ethan for passing the SolidWorks Certification Exam last Saturday.

For more than six decades, SWE has given women engineers a unique place and voice within the engineering industry. Twenty CHS young women interested in Engineering are meeting weekly and the group is growing! Students attending SWE are focused on learning the new iOS application software to have an app of their own available on the App Store soon. They are also working on building a robotic dog and assisting students at the CISD middle schools. If you are interested in SWE, join them Wednesday mornings at 7:45am in the CHS Engineering Room or talk with your Engineering teacher on how to get plugged in! Engineering students are hard at work each and every day at CHS! Three more students have earned their CSWA certification. This week Laurel, Cole and Andrew have passed the exam. Way to go! That brings the total up to 7 certifications so far for the year!!
